Ideally-sized for the campsite, the Filson x Brant & Cochran Dirigo Belt Axe is hand crafted in Maine with traditional forging and tempering techniques. Honed to a 25-degree, razor-sharp edge, the 1.75-lb. 1050 carbon steel head is the same efficient wedge shape unique to Maine axes in the early 1900s. The 17” hickory handle receives a hand-rubbed oil and wax finish that seals the wood and can be refreshed for long-term, blister-free use. Includes a honing puck and custom leather sheath.
